L*K 6 Fat Men SAL

Oh....I just messed up! I just came across the L*K 6 Fat Men SAL and got all excited when I saw that I could still join the SAL. I posted my information but I have not started to stitch any of the 6 Fat Men. I just ordered the patterns today and the fabric. I am so sorry! I hope my order comes quickly and I will be able to post my progress next Monday! Sometimes I can be such an air head. Thank you for visiting! Christine ~because nice matters~

Mini Mystery SAL

Last week while surfing blogland I can across a mini mystery SAL and I thought it would be fun to participate. This being my first SAL, I liked how you won't receive the second part of the pattern until you finished the first part and there was a deadline of today. This really kept me focused on my stitching since I really want the second part. I finished the first part of the SAL yesterday but didn't have time to write about it until today.I was also surprised how quickly others had finished their first part.

It is a beautiful Hungarian folk art motif.

You can check out all the other Hungarian folk art motifs here http://manka-sal.blogspot.com

Happy April

I would like to wish my quilting buddy a very happy birthday! Today is her day!
Happy Birthday, Maryellen! I hope you have the best day ever!

And I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I spent the day in New York City on Saturday. We went to visit my hubs Uncle and see the Broadway show "Claybourne Park". It is a drama and in previews. It doesn't officially open for a few more days and will be interesting to read the reviews. I do prefer musicals.

Sunday was spent doing errands and getting ready for the week. I did have sometime to work on my garden. I sewed together a few more flowers. And here is an updated picture.

I also wanted to share a Jelly Roll Race quilt I have been working on. It still needs to be quilted. Here is a picture. Another UFO!

Weekend Fun!

There wasn't a lot of stitching going on this past weekend. I did a little bite on my Lizzie * Kate cross stitch. Can you tell which pattern it is? I'll give you a hint. It is one that recently came out.

I attended the LIQS's quilt show on Saturday. It was so wonderful to see all the quilts. There is such talent out there in the quilting community. I only took one picture which was of a Elm Creek Quilt. It is on my list to make someday. And I do love the Elm Creek series.

Sorry the picture is so bad.

There were many good venders and I did buy. I brought this baby tumbler quilt kit and some FQs. The baby tumbler quilt kit is very soft and cute. I spent some of Sunday cutting the tumblers now if I could just find the time to sew.

Weekend Stitching

This was my weekend stitching project. I just need to finish the boarder and it will be done.
So for the rest of this week it will become my 15 minutes of play in the mornings.

My first mug rug!
 Front

 Back

I started this back during a mug rug blog a long. I don't remember exactly who's blog I got this pattern from, but I love the way it came out. I finally had a chance to quilt it this past week and my quilting buddy ME stitched the binding for me while I practiced my FMQ. I still need a lot of practice on my FMQ.

Happy Monday!

Last night, my son asked me if I would help him with his homework. He had to write a speech and wanted to practice the speech on me, so I sat at the dining room table with him as he worked on his assignment I should have continued to stitch my "Be Mine Valentine" cross stitch that I had been working on all weekend but no....I started another project, it isn't like I don't have tons of projects waiting to be finished but this beautiful Moda fabric was just sitting there, calling my name, waiting to be touched and I just love making hexies.....hum...

These hexies were made from Echo scraps from Moda....aren't they just beautiful.

Do you think I can finish it by tomorrow? I don't know.
I don't think I allowed myself enough time for my holiday stitching.
It could be a time management issue or I should just not start any new projects for awhile.
But it is so hard
 What do you think?
I think I have a problem.

Come Twist With Us

Sha over at Craziee Corners is hosting a Twist Along.

So...why not come join the fun!

All you need is a Twister Ruler and a charm pack or layer cake, and a little yardage!

The Twist Along starts on Feb 12 and will run for 4 weeks. Sha will be doing tutorials, giving pointers and showing other projects using the twister rulers.

I picked up my twisting rulers from the Fat Quarter Shop.

There is also a flickr page for this group http://www.flickr.com/groups/1879756@N24/ so that we can all share our twisting.

I have Sha's Twist Along button on the right side of my blog, so go check out Sha's blog and all the details about the Twist Along.

I hope you come Twist with us!

Happy Monday!

I have two finishes to show for January, (whoo hoo)
the first is the baby blanket I made for a co-worker.
And the second is a Rag Quilt I finished for my son's birthday.
He turned 16 on the 23rd of January. I have some extra Jets fabric so I told him I would make a matching pillow to go with the Rag quilt. (add it to the list...he,he,he)

Last Tuesday, my friend ME was here from PA. I had planned to work on Jenny's quilt but I missed placed the boarder fabric. I could not find it anywhere. Don't you just hate when that happens. Jenny's quilt now has a name, Jenny's Back to School Quilt. It still needs to be sandwiched and quilted. (I didn't get a chance to take a picture.)  We did have a great time, ME worked on her son's Irish Chain quilt which is just stunning! And I worked on the January's Bloggers BOM which once again I made backwards. I am going to give this block another try!

I run out of yarn to finish Megan's Scarf so must pick that up this week so that I can finish the scarf before winter is over. I did start another scarf since they are such a good pick up and go project.

Well that is enough of January...on to February! My goals for February are Jenny's Back to School Quilt, Megan's Scarf and a St. Patrick's Day Table runner. I have some other things I am working on too but I will leave them for another post.

WIPocalypse

One of my favorite things to do is to read blogs. During one of my blog hoppings, I came across a blog where you can post a list of your cross stitching projects. I thought that this was something I could do and help motivate me! This is my first WIPocalypse posting. Now if only I could remember where to link up to! Ugh!

Welcome 2012!

I've been waiting for you....
For the last couple of weeks, I have been looking forward to 2012. I've been given a lot of thought about what I want to accomplish in 2012. Finishing my UFO's is on the on the top of that list and this is the year when I get them done! My word for 2012 is FINISHED. I want to have many finishes. And everytime I have a finish I will be sharing them here with you.

I plan on posting my goals for each month to help me keep on track, so my goals for January are.....

Megan's scarf (started 12/11)
Baby Shower gift (started 1/2/12)
Jorge's rag quilt (started 11/10)
Jenny's quilt (started 11/11)

Jorge's rag quilt all cut out and ready to sew.

I hope to have a finish soon!
