Sunday Stitching

I am enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon relaxing and working on my Sashiko piece.
I am making some progress and I am about a third of the way done.

It is hard to see the progress in my picture but it is the darker white lines that are done.

I also stitched this cute little owl cross stitch kit. It was a free gift from
the June 2014 Cross Stitcher magazine.
I am going to make it into a birthday card for my niece.
My niece's birthday is in September and she is a big fan of owls.

Sunday Stitching

A little progress being made on my Sashiko piece.......

This piece measures 8 x 21 inches. It is going to make a nice wall hanger.

I am on the look out for some Japanese fabric for the boarders.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

Thank you for visiting!

Sunday Stitching

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. As I mentioned in my last post, I am attempting to clean my sewing area (aka my dining room). I keep on getting distracted with some great things I am finding that I have forgotten about like this Sashiko piece.
I picked this up at a Quilt show back in 2011!

Sashiko is a 350 year old Japanese hand needlework technique using a thick cotton thread to create a geometric pattern against a solid background fabric.

I am going to make this my Sunday Stitching project and will post updates on Sundays.
It will make a nice wall hanger.
Happy Stitching!
