Wednesday Morning

Image
I finished stitching the six little flowers!

And I have decided to make six more little flowers for the backs. (I told you they were addictive!)
I found an Andover charm pack of assorted solid colors in my stash to use for the other six flowers.

It is really fun finding all these goodies in my stash that I had totally forgotten about.

I have been trying to blogger more too, so I thank you very much for visiting.

A little progress being made on my Sashiko piece....... This piece measures 8 x 21 inches. It is going to make a nice wall hanger.   I am on the look out for some Japanese fabric for the boarders. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Thank you for visiting! Christine

I finished three out of the six little hexi flowers I found in my stash. These are so cute, quick, a little project before I head off to my day job on Wednesday mornings. I am thinking of making them into pin cushions or I may just keep on making them. They are very addictive! And relaxing to stitch! And I do have a lot of scraps!

Since I finished all the EPP I am going to do for now on my Tula Pink pillow, (Long story short, my sewing machines are not set up right now and I don't really know when they are going to be, so the quilting part of the Tula Pink pillow just needs to be put on hold for awhile)  So I decided to start a new EPP project. Why not?

I picked up these 2 Moda Grant Park charm packs from the Eastern Long Island Quilt show this past June. I am basting them into 4 inch hexies with plans of making them into a table runner.

I have 6 down and 34 more to go.

I am linking up with Jessica from Life Under Quilts for Monday Morning Star Counts!

You should also check out all the other EPP projects being linked up to Life Under Quilts!

Thank you for visiting!

Sunday Stitching

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. As I mentioned in my last post, I am attempting to clean my sewing area (aka my dining room). I keep on getting distracted with some great things I am finding that I have forgotten about like this Sashiko piece.  I picked this up at a Quilt show back in 2011!
Sashiko is a 350 year old Japanese hand needlework technique using a thick cotton thread to create a geometric pattern against a solid background fabric.
I am going to make this my Sunday Stitching project and will post updates on Sundays. It will make a nice wall hanger. Happy Stitching! Christine

Wednesday Morning

While I was attempting to organize my sewing area (aka dining room). I found these cute English Paper Pieces kits from Paper Pieces.  I was trying to remember where I pick them up from....I either got them from a Quilt Show or from a lecture/truck show given by Jessica's from Life Under Quilts.

I found 6 of these kits.

On Wednesday, I work the late shift so before heading off to work, I was able to baste six 1/2 inch hexies. I thinking these would make cute pin cushions.

Happy Stitching!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I finished my Tula Pink 1 inch hexies piece. It is 10 hexies by 10 hexies.

I am going to quilt this piece and than make it into a pillow.

This is the fabric I plan on using for the back.
