Sunday Stitching

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. As I mentioned in my last post, I am attempting to clean my sewing area (aka my dining room). I keep on getting distracted with some great things I am finding that I have forgotten about like this Sashiko piece.
I picked this up at a Quilt show back in 2011!

Sashiko is a 350 year old Japanese hand needlework technique using a thick cotton thread to create a geometric pattern against a solid background fabric.

I am going to make this my Sunday Stitching project and will post updates on Sundays.
It will make a nice wall hanger.
Happy Stitching!
Christine

  1. Isn't it fun to find things we forget about? I will look forward to seeing progress on this.

  2. I love sashiko and will be watching your progress. I have done several small projects since moving to Japan and hope to do more. This makes me want to pull one of my sashiko projects out!
